35 weekaroos!

I have failed miserably at keeping up with this whole blog thing. I just wanted to give a quick update on what's been going on. First of all, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I can't believe it has already come and gone. Nothing new really is going on. I am now 35 weeks and getting bigger by the second. Someone actually told me tonight that it looks like I'm having triplets! I know I'm pretty big....but triplets? Really? I have been going to the doctor every two weeks and everything is looking great! I go back to see the doc on Dec. 9th and I will get another ultrasound to see if Eli is head down and he is also going to do an exam to see if I am progressing at all. I can't believe it's this close! 5 weeks from D-day...and no one seems to think I'll make it that far. We shall see. I was actually quiet excited today. I was in need of a pedicure really bad, and I could actually reach my toes myself! I was huffing and puffing the entire time, but hey, I was just happy that I could do it! I am getting less nervous and more excited about the whole labor experience. My bags are packed and in the car! We are ready to meet our little man!

Update on Eli

We had our doctor's appointment on Wednesday this past week and I did my glucose test and we got an ultrasound. I passed my glucose test, or at least I am assuming I did since I didn't hear anything from the doc. The ultrasound was a little dissappointing. Eli had his face toward my back so we didn't get any good pictures!! But everthing looks good. He was 2lbs and 12 oz. and he is measuring about a week and half early. So that changed my due date to Dec. 26th! Only 10 weeks left. That doesn't seem like it's possible! It's going to make for an interesting Christmas this year. My weight and blood pressure were good. It's hard to get on the scale and see that number though! In the ultrasound, we saw that his feet are right under my ribs...and since that day, he has been killing me with those kicks to the ribs. They are so sore! He likes to do it at night right when I am trying to go to sleep...go figure! Other than that and being tired all over again, things are great and I can't wait to hold him in my arms! Oh yea, and I am now going to the doc every 2 weeks instead of every 4!

Date night!

It's very rare these days that Chris and I get to go out and do something. The hours he has to work are just ridiculous and a lot of the times when he is off, I have to work. But last night we both had the night off together and it was wonderful. We actually had the whole day off together, but I let him play a little XBox and I went shopping. But we enjoyed just spending time together. We went to see the movie Orphan at the cheap theater...by the way, if you haven't seen it, it's a pretty good movie! Then, we went downtown and had dinner at Bluewater. It was just a relaxing day and I enjoyed every minute I got to spend with my husband. There aren't going to be too many of those moments left so I better soak it up while I can!

6 month appointment

Wednesday was my 6 month check-up and everything is going wonderfully. It was a quick visit. We heard his heartbeat...upper 140s, weighed me...gained 6 pounds, yikes!, and my blood pressure was 110/60. Things are good! I will get an ultrasound at my next visit in October, which is also when I do my gluecose test. He told me that after my next visit, I will start coming every 2 weeks...that is crazy! Time is just ticking away! I've started having some back pain and my ribs have been killing me. He said it was because my uterus is growing and pushing on my rib cage. It hurts mostly in the mornings when I wake up. Not unbearable, but definitley not pleasant. And here is the most recent pic I have of my belly...

I march to the beat of a different drumer.

Not much going on since my last update. We did loose a very sweet family member on August 23, 2009, Carolyn Fairbanks, my Uncle Skipper's wife. She had been ill for some time, so it wasn't unexpected...still a very sad loss for the Fairbanks family.

August 23rd was also my 23rd birthday. Didn't get to do much....Chris was still in training as MIT and was working, so I just went to eat dinner with my wonderful parents. Got some cashola and a new video camera. Can't complain about that!

We have also got the nursery all done! We were pretty excited, so we jumped on it. All we need now is Eli. I've been buying some things for him already....I am going to register in about 2 more weeks! I can't wait for that.

Since my last prenatal appointment I have gained about 3 more pounds....total so far- 8 pounds. My belly gets bigger and bigger everyday. He moves around all the time. Got my first real shocker kick today. He must have hit an organ or something...kinda hurt! Since seeing Brittney and little Luke, I have just become even more infatuated with my little man. I can not believe I am going to have the privilege of being a mom! I am overwhelmed with excitement!

Let's see....well, I am now back to work at Big River. I work 3 or 4 days a week. It helps us out and gives me something to do now since I am not in school. The whole school thing is a frustrating matter. I am not finishing my degree for several reasons.....the biggest reason money. But we plan on me staying at home with Eli when he is little, so I wouldn't be using my degree for a while. I am just thankful that Chris got his promotion as manager at the perfect time so that I am able to stay at home with him. It is definitely a blessing! He is loving his new position. I am glad he's happy. He gets 2 days off a week and he will get to take a week's paid vacation when Eli's born! He has to work some pretty late nights, but you gotta start off somewhere.

Life is going good.

20 week update

I have finally reached the halfway point! It has actually gone by extremely fast! I will be holding him in my arms in no time! I had my 20 week appointment on Wednesday and everything is perfect. We didn't have an ultrasound this time...we won't get another until I am 28 weeks...bummer. But he weighed me...gained 3 pounds so far, heard his heartbeat which was in the 140's, and Dr. Childs said that he probably weighs about 1 pound. He told me that within the next 8 weeks, I am going to see my biggest growth spurt because baby is going to be growing a lot as well. Eli moves around all the time. I can't tell what body part he is hitting/kicking me with, but he is definitely a fiesty little booger. I can even see him moving...it's simply amazing!

Morning sickness..WHAT?

The weirdest thing happened today. I woke up a little late today, so I didn't eat breakfast because lunch was only like 45min. away. So, I got ready and took my vitamin and drank some water. I have taken my vitamin on an empty stomach before and never had any problem. Well today, I let out a huge sneeze and then all the sudden, I felt like I was going to vomit. Sure enough, I had to run to the bathroom and do just that. This was the first time I have actually gotten sick throughout my whole pregnancy. It was just out of the blue. I hope this isn't a new trend that will start everyday! But on a happier note...I have been feeling Eli move a lot! It's the best feeling ever! We also have his bedding already set up and everything, and his wardrobe is already full of clothes! He is a little rotten booger already! It's just so hard to resist all those cute things. We are going to paint the nursery sometime soon. I can not wait!
